Board members

The Board Saba Business Association currently consists of four people. If you want to contact either one of them, you will find all the contact information on our contact page.
President

Mrs. Carmen Simmons
Former President SBA 2005–2006, 2006–2007 & 2007–2008 & 2008-2009, board member 2009-2010

It needs no further introduction for this lady. Mrs. Carmen Simmons was the President of the SBA for many years and has done a tremendous job in the past.
Happy to be able to help the businesses and community to the best of my abilities, I invite all the business of Saba to join us so we can make the SBA a force to be reckoned with.

Secretary

Mr. Andries Bonnema

I have worked in different parts of the world in the tourism sector, but mostly in Amsterdam and surrounding. For the Amsterdam Tourism and Convention Board I worked as a location manager and I was a member, secretary and later president of the ‘works council’, the council that represents the employees in management meetings. I also held a number of sales and reservation positions and I worked as the front office manager for two major hostels in Amsterdam. In 2008 I decided to move to paradise and run my own little place here.

Saba is a small community. As a business owner I want to support this community, because it’s this community that gives me the opportunity to successfully run a business here. From a tourism perspective the island of Saba, its natural beauties – both above and below water – and its community are the attraction that I offer to my guests. As a business community we have the responsibility to work together with the local and Central Dutch governments and with other stakeholders to make sure the businesses on Saba flourish and can continue supporting the local community and its way of life and also introduce our beautiful island to people from abroad.

Treasurer

Wolfgang Tooten
Former Vice President & Treasurer SBA 2005–2006, 2006–2007 & 2007–2008 & 2008-2009, President 2009-2010

Self-employed since 1984, having run several successful businesses in his home country of Germany before settling on Saba, Wolfgang is a highly qualified registered diving instructor, a certified chef and managing director of his own companies on the island.
Presently owner & operator of Saba Divers & Scout's Place Hotel on Saba, Wolfgang's main focus with the SBA is to promote positive business development and to promote the causes and programs of the SBA and its members, whilst ensuring that government policies and constitutional changes, that could affect business interests on Saba, are monitored and discussed.

Board member

Mr. Egon Linzey

Little story about yourself and why you are a board member of the SBA / what the SBA should accomplish.

Oh yeah, we need a better picture also ;-)
